Asics is a Japanese multinational corporation that produces footwear and sports equipment designed for a wide range of sports, generally in the upper price range. Its founder, Kihachiro Onitsuka, began manufacturing basketball shoes in his home town of Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.
