Ferrets are crepuscular, which means they are naturally active at dawn and dusk. They like to have lots and lots of sleep – between 18 and 20 hours a day – but they certainly make up for their monster snoozes when they're awake.

Their clever minds and agile bodies need lots of toys and stimulation to keep them mentally and physically occupied. Friendly and sociable, they enjoy human companionship but love to play games with other ferrets, which is why you should always have at least two – ideally from the same litter.
