The Polar Circle Marathon is often called the "world's coolest marathon".

The race is held in Kangerlussuaq, where the endless ice and snow form the backdrop to a race steeped in challenges. This is a very unusual race that is run on glaciers and through areas where the term Arctic desert springs to mind.

Part of the course is run on the very ice cap itself. Here runners can have a unique encounter with "the wall" which in these parts consists of a wall of ice that is several millions of years old.
